Make W.A.V.E.S. 2021 is sponsored by Hudson River Adventures headed by Yonkers own Bob Walters in collaboration with Blue Door Art Center and partially funded by Poets & Writers takes on new meaning as we reel away from the pandemic and slowly return to outdoor activities.

Starting in August, we will be meeting in person at the Riverfront Library AND continue meeting virtually.

The history of Make WAVES is rich. The original collaboration with Blue Door Art Center and the Science Barge (Groundwork Hudson Valley) began 4 summers ago. The breezes, vegetables and ambiance of the barge contributed to the success of the series. Each summer WAVES rippled rich writing, mentoring and friendships.

The Summer 2021 series is for emerging and seasoned writers ages 14 and up and is diverse in gender, ethnicity and age, open to our Yonkers community and neighbors from other boroughs and states and because of it being virtual, it is also international.

Studio 423C Sharp, Blue Door Art Center, Hudson River Adventures are collaborating,

My belief that:
We Are All Artists We Are All Writers We Are All Poets came to fruition with the Community Writing Project Journal published during the pandemic and features all the workshop participants and submissions from our call out. The journal is in the Together apART Spring exhibition at Arts Westchester in White Plains and archived at BDAC. bluedoorartcenter.org A Yonkers Initiative Grant has been submitted to Arts Westchester to partially fund the publication of a journal issue including the writing of the Make W.A.V.E.S Summer 2021 participants.
